Documentary Theatre

"2024, Spring" by Ash Marinaccio and Joseph Shahadi is being workshopped at New York University's Verbatim Performance Lab. "2024, Spring" is a documentary theatre play about the Gaza Solidarity Encampments at City College of New York. The play was developed as part of the 2024-2024 Civilians R&D Group. A free reading will be held on October 25, 2025 at 12:00 pm. RSVP via e-mail.
Intergenerational Theatre Lab
Docbloc's first Intergenerational Theatre Lab launched in January 2025. Applications to be part of our second cohort will open in spring 2026.
New Play Development

"I Went to Paterson" is about the heroin epidemic on the Jersey Shore. The show is created by interviews, testimonies, and stories from those affected including users, former users, family members, friends, and community activists. Learn more here.
PREVIOUS COLLABORATIONS AND PROJECTS
The College Monologue Project presented in May 2024 at The People's Forum. This project brought students from Queens College and Purchase College together to investigate critical socio-political issues impacting their respective communities. Learn more here.
